Borsheims Names New Jewelry Buyer
Former Free People buyer Afton Robertson-Kanne recently joined the retailer.

Prior to joining the retailer she was a senior buyer at Free People, where she began her career as an assistant buyer.
Robertson-Kanne brings a strategic and forward-thinking approach to merchandise planning, said the retailer, and her skills include analyzing market data, managing inventory, and building strong supplier and brand partnerships.
In her new role, she will help shape Borsheims’ private label jewelry lines and its designer product assortment.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Afton to the Borsheims family,” said Julie McAlpine, vice president of merchandising.
“Her understanding of the global retail industry and passion for product curation will be instrumental as we continue to elevate our jewelry collections and deliver exceptional experiences to our customers.”
Robertson-Kanne earned a bachelor of science degree from Indiana University, where she majored in apparel merchandising and minored in business and marketing.
Borsheims has announced a number of new hires this year, including a new assistant IT manager, an assistant facilities manager, and a senior security and facilities manager.
Owned by Berkshire Hathaway, the 155-year-old retailer is one of the largest independent jewelry stores in the U.S.
