Oshkosh, Wis.—The Oshkosh Public Museum in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, is hosting a jewelry exhibition this fall.

“Chicago Collects: Jewelry in Perspective” will showcase 200 pieces from Chicago museums and private collectors, including works by Fabergé, Lalique, and Louis Comfort Tiffany.

It will highlight major design movements from the 19th century through today, celebrating the glamour of jewelry alongside the story of its craftsmanship and the history of artistic movements.

The exhibition was organized by the Richard H. Driehaus Museum in Chicago with jewelry historian Elyse Zorn Karlin as a guest curator.

“The exhibition offers both beauty and historical context,” said Emily Rock, the Oshkosh Public Museum’s chief curator and assistant director.

“Visitors will see sparkling gemstones, fine metalwork, colorful enamel, and decorative art objects while learning how jewelry reflects broader artistic movements, cultural trends, and design history.”

The traveling exhibition was previously shown in 2024 at the Richard H. Driehaus Museum, then moved on to Muskegon Museum of Art in Muskegon, Michigan.

Notable works on display include a piece of silver made by Paul Revere, Jr., jewelry renderings by René Lalique, a silver punch bowl from Chicago’s Cliff Dweller’s Club, and objects from the 1893 World’s Fair.

The exhibition was designed with both jewelry fans and general visitors in mind, said the museum, noting attendees don’t need any special jewelry knowledge to enjoy it.

The exhibition will run from Sept. 19 through March 20, 2027.

Jewelers Mutual Group, which is based in Neenah, Wisconsin, is a presenting sponsor for the exhibition.

“As a company rooted in Wisconsin for more than a century, we are honored to help bring the stories of artistry, history, and jewelry craftsmanship to life for the community,” said Scott Murphy, outgoing CEO at Jewelers Mutual.

“Supporting exhibitions like this one reflects our broader commitment to elevating the love of jewelry and supporting the arts in the communities we serve.”

The Oshkosh Public Museum, founded in 1924, preserves and supports the history, art, and culture of Oshkosh and the Lake Winnebago Region.

Its galleries honor the region’s history and culture, including contemporary Native American art.

The museum is housed inside the 1908 Historic Sawyer home, an English Tudor Revival-style home which features original Tiffany Studios interiors and stained-glass windows commissioned by businessman Edgar Sawyer, and his wife, Mary.

Highlights of the home include a large landscape window and a “Wisteria” window, both designed by Tiffany Studios designer Agnes Northrup.

It is the only publicly accessible original Tiffany Studios commission that is open to the public, said the museum.
