Christie’s Names New Senior Specialist, Watches
Former Sotheby’s executive Tom Heap has taken on the London-based role.

Based in London, Heap will be tasked with bolstering the auction house’s global presence and expertise and cementing its strong position in the watch market.
He will work alongside Christie’s international Watches team to build relationships with collectors, secure important consignments, and contribute to Christie’s global sales calendar.
Previously, Heap worked at Sotheby’s, joining in 2021 as a watch specialist, as per his LinkedIn profile.
He went on to serve as deputy director and head of sales, specialist, and then as head of the watch department in London.
His love for watches began when he inherited a 1970s Cartier Tank from his godfather, leading to his interest in vintage and contemporary horology, said Christie’s.
“We are thrilled to welcome Tom Heap to the Christie’s international Watches team,” said Remi Guillemin, head of watches, Europe and Americas.
“His expertise across both vintage and contemporary watches and his strong client relationships make him an excellent addition to our global team. London remains an important center within our global watches business, and Tom’s appointment further enhances our ability to serve collectors worldwide.”
Heap’s appointment reflects Christie’s continued expansion into the watch category, it said, as Christie’s London celebrates its 260th year.
The auction house’s watch network spans Geneva, Hong Kong, and New York.
