Signet Falls 11 Spots on NRF’s ‘Top 100’ Retailers List
The jewelry giant came in at No. 67 on the list, down from No. 56 last year.

The jewelry company was No. 67, down 11 spots from No. 56 last year.
Signet came in at No. 66 in 2022 and No. 78 in 2021.
The list, compiled by market research firm Kantar Group, ranks the largest retail companies in the United States, based on 2023 annual U.S. retail sales.
The NRF has said it uses “a variety of estimation techniques” to calculate its figures, so the sales figures on its list may differ from the companies’ official public filing reports.
The NRF’s calculations have Signet’s total U.S. retail sales at $7.2 billion in 2023, down 7 percent year-over-year.
Signet’s store growth was down 4 percent year-over-year, with a total of 2,319 stores in 2023.
Once again, Walmart took the No. 1 spot, followed by Amazon, Costco Wholesale, Kroger, and The Home Depot.
“This year’s list of the Top 100 Retailers largely reflects a post-pandemic return to normal,” said NRF Executive Director of Research Mark Mathews.
“As consumer spending continues to moderate, retailers are prioritizing convenience and value for their customers.”
David Marcotte, Kantar’s senior vice president of global insights and technology, noted only “modest change” within the top 100, especially in the top 20.
“These companies are substantial and have the existing capital and credit to maintain their position with ease,” he said.
One notable standout was Harbor Freight Tools, which jumped 18 spots to No. 62 from No. 80 last year. Its store count increased 9 percent, making it the fastest-growing retailer on the list.
Dollar General, which was No. 17 on the list, also noted strong store growth of 6 percent.
