Melanie Georgacopoulos Turns Pearls Into Light for ‘Eclipse’ Collection
The “Eclipse” jewelry collection captures the fleeting moment where light and shadow align though onyx, diamonds, and freshwater pearls.

Named after the astrological event and inspired by its visual and physical dynamics, the collection aims to capture the fleeting moment where light and shadow align.
Georgacopoulos uses monochromatic arrangements to examine ideas of transition and contrast through tone, sculptural forms, and materials like onyx, diamonds, and pearls.
While she has focused on pearls and mother-of-pearl since her namesake brand launched in 2010, Eclipse marks the first time she has used the gemstone with onyx and diamonds.
“Black and white are technically shades devoid of color, yet they function with deep emotional resonance,” said Georgacopoulos.
“This collection captures the celestial tension where black is the absence of light and white [is] its full presence, using opposing materials as evocative anchors.”
Throughout its 12 pieces, Eclipse focuses on balance, tension, and alignment in wearable pieces.
The standout of the collection is the “Eclipse” necklace that uses inverted color blocking across four strands of freshwater pearls alternating between lengths of black and white interpreted through white and peacock pearls.
Classic chains are also reinterpreted with fluid, yet sculptural loops of white freshwater pearls weaved through custom-cut onyx links.
Both the “Eclipse” chain necklace and matching bracelet are accented by an 18-karat yellow gold clasp featuring 2.89 carats of diamonds.
Georgacopoulos’ best-selling “Cube” designs return for the collection, now using onyx cubes paired with spherical white freshwater pearls.
These designs are offered in diamond accented 18-karat yellow gold as a pendant, ring, and stud earrings.
The collection closes with single-piece cast, large scale bangles, rings, and earrings in black rhodium-plated sterling silver.
These “Eclipse” gap and disk pieces highlight white freshwater pearls in unexpected positions—emerging through gaps and out from underneath the circular discs—to echo the final beads of sunlight during an eclipse.
The Eclipse collection debuted on April 23 and retails from $3,000.
It is available on the Melanie Georgacopoulos website and will be at select retailers in the future.
