Diamonds Do Good Introduces $100K Entrepreneurship Grant Program
A minimum of five recipients will be chosen, with funding ranging from $5,000 to $20,000.

The program is a $100,000 partnership between DDG and United People Global, which runs sustainability leadership training for “young change-makers” working on projects addressing all 17 of the Sustainable Development Goals.
Established by the United Nations, the goals include ending poverty and hunger, reaching gender equality, using affordable and clean energy, promoting quality education, and more.
A minimum of five grantees will be chosen, with funding ranging from $5,000 to $20,000.
The 2022 Diamonds Do Good Entrepreneurship Grant will be won by entrepreneurs from diamond-producing countries in southern Africa, where many gem-quality natural diamonds are mined.
The move keeps with DDG’s mission of supporting initiatives that develop and empower people in diamond mining communities across the world.
Providing access to capital through small amounts of money invested in early-stage start-ups will further help build and nurture Africa’s private sector, DDG said in a press release.
Details about the grants can be found on DDG section of UPG’s website.
“An entrepreneur is someone who brings a solution to life. UPG Biashara (the Zulu term for business) supports entrepreneurs in their journey to turn beautiful sparks into enduring flames,” said UPG President Yemi Babington-Ashay.
