The fifth annual consumer-facing event happening Oct. 25-26 in New York City will feature 37 brands like Breguet, Montblanc and Omega, allowing attendees to view and try on rare and luxury timepieces.
Produced by WatchTime magazine, the Friday portion of the event is a cocktail party, where, in addition to taking a first view of the array of watches, guests will partake in a top-shelf open bar, hors d’oeuvres and catered food at various stations.
Brand founders like Stephen Forsey, Fiona Kruger, Romain Gauthier, Roland Murphy, Rex Rexhepi, Christophe Claret and Kari Voutilainen will be in attendance, in addition to various watch brand executives, collectors and influencers.
Saturday’s daytime event will feature expert-led discussions on a variety of watch industry topics.
The just-announced lineup features the following talks: “The Chronograph 101” from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.; “The Golden Age of Watchmaking: Past or Present?” led by timepiece collector and consultant Jeff Kingston from 12:30 pm. to 1:30 p.m.; and “What Makes Young Collectors Tick” from WatchTime editor Logan Baker happening 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.
“Our goal with WatchTime New York has always been to take the energy and educational content from the WatchTime multimedia channels and magazine pages and translate it into a meaningful, real-life experience for our network of collectors,” WatchTime Editor-in-Chief Roger Ruegger said.
“We want the magazine to come to life for the attendees and make sure they walk away with memorable experiences and maybe even a new watch!”
WatchTime New York is a ticketed event. Saturday day-entry tickets cost $50, while tickets to the Friday night opening cocktail plus Saturday entry cost $150.
The event is happening at Manhattan’s Gotham Hall, located at 1356 Broadway. The Friday cocktail party takes place from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
