Roselle, Ill.--A sale is set for the equipment and other assets from defunct jewelry company Lia Sophia’s Ontario distribution center as well its headquarters and facility in Illinois.
Tiger Group’s Remarketing Services Division and PPL Group are conducting the sale, giving buyers the opportunity to purchase equipment from the Lia Sophia’s distribution center in Richmond Hill, Ontario.
Tiger Remarketing said the custom-designed facility is only three years old, and includes pallet-rack, pick-to-light, flow rack and conveyor systems, as well as material handling and other equipment.
Meanwhile, Lia Sophia’s former corporate office and distribution center, located in Roselle, a western suburb of Chicago, comprises 180,000 square feet of space built in 2006 to include receiving, inspection, packaging, distribution, packout/quality control, pick-to-light replenishment and shipping systems.
It contains a ground-level warehouse and office spaces, plus a 30,000-square-foot mezzanine for return and exchange services.
Tiger said that both lease and purchase options will be provided to parties interested in the turnkey sale of the Roselle center.
Previews of the assets offered in the sale are available by appointment. A full catalog of the items and more information on how to schedule a visit or bid can be found on SoldTiger.com.
A direct-sales costume jewelry company, Lia Sophia closed its doors at the end of 2014 after 28 years in business.
Like beauty brands Avon and Mary Kay and jewelry company Stella & Dot, it employed thousands of women as independent representatives to sell its line of necklaces, bracelets, earrings, and rings. Lia Sophia cited a “challenging business environment” as its reason for shutting down.
