AGTA Solidifies Tucson Dates For 2027-2029
The next three editions of AGTA GemFair Tucson will feature a five-day show that includes Sunday.

This will be the date pattern for the annual, trade-only show for the next three years, the organization said.
The 2027 show will take place Sunday, Jan. 31 to Thursday, Feb. 4.
In 2028, it is set for Sunday, Jan. 30 to Thursday, Feb. 3, and in 2029, from Sunday, Jan. 28 to Thursday, Feb. 1.
The opening night “Toast to Tucson” party will take place on Sunday, and there will still be two days of seminars—dates to be decided—as well as an evening for the Spectrum & Cutting Edge Awards Gala.
AGTA said that, in a survey, exhibitors “overwhelmingly” expressed their desire to continue a five-day show.
This newly announced date pattern retains a five-day duration while offering attendees who prefer to shop on a weekend the opportunity to do so.
AGTA has previously adjusted its schedule based on exhibitor feedback.
The 2025 show featured an additional day, extending the Tuesday-Sunday schedule of previous years to Monday-Sunday, creating a six-day show with a 2 p.m. closing time on Sunday.
The 2026 show was a return to the five-day format, running Monday through Friday.
“The five-day format proved highly successful this year, with the vast majority of exhibitors reporting exceptional results,” said Bruce Bridges, AGTA board president.
“Buyer attendance increased by 7 percent in 2026 compared to the same five-day pattern in 2025. During the show, we surveyed our exhibitors, and a very strong majority expressed a clear preference for maintaining the five-day format.
He continued, “In response, the board elected to adopt a Sunday–Thursday schedule, with the strategic objective of re-engaging the more than 150 companies that did not participate in 2026 and that have historically favored weekend dates.”
