NAJA Opens Scholarship Applications for 2025
Two scholarships are available, one for new and non-members and another for NAJA certified members.

There are two scholarships, one for aspiring appraisers who are new or non-members of NAJA and the other for NAJA certified members.
“This partnership with Instappraise is a continuation of the National Association of Jewelry Appraisers’ commitment to appraisal education and supporting individuals in their pursuit of professional achievements,” said Gail Brett Levine, executive director of NAJA.
All applicants must hold a Graduate Gemologist or equivalent degree, such as FGA, FGAA, FGG, FCGmA, or RGA.
The Instappraise NAJA Non-Member Scholarship, valued at $2,070, includes a one-year NAJA membership fee, lessons one through five of the NAJA Appraisal Studies Course, and a one-year subscription to the Instappraise software platform.
The scholarship is a comprehensive package, said the companies in a joint press release, that will start the recipients’ careers with the bedrock of appraisal education.
The courses will cover ethics, value theory, appraisal types, fair market value, and report writing, as well as enhance student’s skills through quizzes, a final exam, and a final appraisal report.
Once the student completes the lessons within five months, they will be granted the NAJA Certified Member designation. However, students should note that the designation also carries a two-year appraisal experience requirement.
The Instappraise NAJA Member Scholarship, valued at $1,775, includes a one-year NAJA membership fee, lessons six through 18 of the NAJA Appraisal Studies Course, and a one-year subscription to the Instappraise software program.
Designed for existing NAJA members, this scholarship offers additional opportunities for professional development and advancement.
Once the student completes lessons six through 18, which must be done within 12 months, they will be granted the NAJA Certified Master Appraiser designation. This designation also carries a seven-year appraisal experience and NAJA Accredited Gemological Laboratory requirement.
NAJA’s designations are exclusively available to active NAJA members, it said, and are conferred based on a combination of education, experience points, successful exam results, and acceptance of the sample appraisal report.
Scholarship applicants must meet specific eligibility criteria and adhere to conditions outlined on the application website.
As part of the requirements, applicants must submit an essay about why they should receive the scholarship and how it will impact their professionalism and career aspirations.
The deadline to apply for the Instappraise and NAJA’s scholarships is June 15.
The recipient of each scholarship will be announced at the 2025 NAJA summer conference.
Interested applicants can apply on the Instappraise website.
