IEG Pushes Oroarezzo Italian Jewelry Trade Show to 2022
It was originally slated for June 12-15 at the Expo Centre in Arezzo, Italy.
The event was slated for June 12-15 at the Expo Centre in Arezzo, Italy, but has now been pushed back to 2022, according to a press release from IEG.
Organizers said that though the Italian trade show system “can finally count on a recovery road map for its activities,” conditions won’t be stable enough on an international level by June to allow for the necessary travel to the event.
It added that in view of the current situation, it’s unlikely major buyers from the Middle East, U.S., Asia and other strategic markets would be able to attend.
Oroarezzo, dedicated to Italian goldsmithing, will return to its physical format in 2022; new dates will be announced in the future. In the meantime, its community will continue to rely on digital events to stay connected, like the recent “We Are Jewellery” interactive fashion show and business-to-business trade event.
Meanwhile, IEG is still planning on holding its T.Gold and Vincezaoro shows—the former for machinery and other technology, while the latter includes the entire supply chain—Sept. 10-14 in Vicenza, and its
VO Vintage, for vintage jewelry and watches, from Sept. 11-13.
The postponement of Oroarezzo is just the latest in several recent international show changes as the coronavirus pandemic continues to upset the global event calendar.
India’s Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council postponed the IIJS Signature jewelry show that had been scheduled for April, with no new dates yet announced for that event.
And the Hong Kong Trade Development Council pushed its gem and jewelry trade shows back again, postponing the Hong Kong International Diamond, Gem & Pearl Show and the Hong Kong International Jewellery Show from early July to July 25-29.
But according to the Informa Markets website as of Wednesday afternoon, the event organizer still has several upcoming global events planned—the Istanbul Jewelry Show from May 27-30, the Hyderabad Jewellery, Pearl & Gem Fair from May 28-30, and Jewellery & Gem Asia Hong Kong from June 24-27, as well as several planned for the fall.
