ASJH to Hold Rare Jewelry Book Sale
The American Society of Jewelry Historians will sell more than 1,200 books, auction catalogues and magazines at Doyle & Doyle Wednesday.

New York—The American Society of Jewelry Historians has an event happening this week as part of New York City Jewelry Week that will excite jewelry and book lovers alike.
The society, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing education and information on jewelry and jewelry history, has been gifted an important collection of books from the reference library of the late prominent Art Nouveau collector, author, lecturer and founder of the original Jewelry Camp, Joseph Sataloff.
It includes more than 1,200 books, auction catalogues and magazines, most of which cover jewelry but with some that also delve into art and history. Many are out of print and hard to find, the ASJH said.
They will put the materials up for sale on Nov. 14 at jewelry boutique Doyle & Doyle, which offers a selection of vintage, antique and estate jewelry.
At the event, attendees will be able to browse and buy the rare jewelry and art books, and mingle with jewelry historians, collectors and other jewelry lovers.
The ASJH is not affiliated will Doyle & Doyle. All proceeds from the sale of the books will be donated to the society to support lectures, scholarships and programs for the jewelry community.
The event will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. for the public (with special ASJH member access from 5 to 6 p.m.) at Doyle & Doyle at 412 West 13th Street. Those interested in attending should RSVP to rsvp@doyledoyle.com.
