New York--During its annual luncheon event next month, the Jewelers Security Alliance will honor Jewelers Mutual Insurance Co.’s David Sexton and ATF Senior Special Agent James Liscinsky for their outstanding contributions to the safety and security of the industry.
The event is scheduled to take place at the Harmonie Club in New York on Saturday, Jan. 9.
JSA will present the 11th annual Industry Service Award to Sexton, vice president for loss prevention consulting at Jewelers Mutual. One of the leading experts in the U.S. on loss prevention for jewelers, Sexton also serves on the boards of the JSA, Jewelers Vigilance Canada and the Security Systems Council of Underwriters Laboratories.
For three decades, he has been the point person at Jewelers Mutual for the JSA, as the two have worked together closely to develop loss prevention strategies, projects and presentations.
JSA will present the 17th annual James B. White Award to Liscinsky, who is an agent with the U.S. Justice Department’s Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. It will be the first time the JSA has honored an ATF agent.
He is being recognized for his “outstanding work involving jewelry-related cases,” the JSA said, including an investigation that resulted in the arrest and conviction of eight gang members who carried out at least 15 violent robberies across six states with losses totaling at least $4.6 million.
