New York--The Silver Promotion Service will be sponsoring a new category for the 2016 American Gem Trade Association Spectrum Awards, appropriately called the “Savor Silver” category.
The category will highlight exceptionally designed silver jewelry that incorporates natural colored gemstones or cultured pearls.
Launched in 1984, the Spectrum Awards recognize designers whose work incorporates colored gemstones and cultured pearls in finished fine jewelry.
Entries in all categories for the awards are being accepted now through Sept. 18. The entry form is available on the AGTA website.

“The inclusion of a Savor Silver Spectrum Awards category, concurrent with the SPS’s introduction of the new ‘Silver Style Partners’ designation for jewelry made with silver, seemed to be a perfect opportunity for both our organizations,” said SPS Director Michael Barlerin.
Silver Style Partners is a new SPS marketing initiative that enables the organization to include silver jewelry made with gemstones and other materials in its Savor Silver program.
The new Savor Silver category is a “special division” of the Spectrum Awards, along with the Platinum Honors category, sponsored by the Platinum Guild International, and the Gem Diva category, sponsored by the Women’s Jewelry Association.
Other categories are bridal wear, business/day wear, classical, evening wear and men’s wear, as well as various categories for lapidary skills.
