Michael Kors Launches Sterling Silver Collection
The range’s main motif is a padlock, and features 14-karat gold, rhodium plating and gemstones.

New York—For fall, Michael Kors has introduced a sterling silver jewelry collection.
The line incorporates 14-karat yellow gold, 14-karat rose gold and rhodium plating, along with gemstone accents.
The designs center on a padlock motif dubbed the “Mercer Lock,” designed to be season-less, timeless and classic enough to work with any wardrobe, whether worn individually or stacked with other pieces, the company said. The faceting of the metalwork showcases a subtle letter M design.
“I’ve been sketching different takes on the letter M since I was a kid,” Kors said in a press release. “There’s something architectural about the shape of the letter that translates into a strong, glamorous graphic element.”
Named for Mercer Street in Lower Manhattan, where Kors opened his first downtown store, the Mercer Lock comes in three variations.
“Mercer Link” sees the Mercer Lock cleverly transformed into chain links for necklaces, bracelets and rings.
“Kors Color,” meanwhile, encompasses the line’s colored gemstone bracelets and necklaces, which allow customers to shop by birthstone or their favorite color.
Lastly, “Kors Custom” takes the personalization aspect up a notch, introducing collectible charms as well as nesting bracelets and rings.
Michael Kors’ sterling silver Mercer Lock collection hit select retailers in August. It starts at $60 for a charm and tops off at $495 for the Mercer Link necklace.
