Now, Tiffany & Co., the iconic New York jeweler founded as a stationary company in 1837 by Charles Lewis Tiffany, gets to tell its own story on the big screen.
The jeweler, which turns 177 this year, confirmed Monday that a fully authorized documentary detailing the founding of the company by Charles Lewis Tiffany and its growth into an internationally recognized brand will hit the big screen in the spring of 2015.
Director Matthew Miele is helming production of the film.
Miele directed the 2013 documentary Scatter My Ashes at Bergdorf’s, about the famous New York department store, as well as 2010’s Symphony for a Suicide, about the life and mysterious death of mob boss Abner Zwillman.
New York-based Cinetic Media LLC, which finances, sells and distributes movies, will release the Tiffany movie. Films the company has been involved with include Little Miss Sunshine and Boys Don’t Cry as well as the documentaries Bowling for Columbine and Super Size Me.
