Appointments: RJC searching for CEO
The Responsible Jewellery Council is on the hunt for a new CEO who will provide strategic vision and leadership for the next chapter of the organization’s development.
New York--The Responsible Jewellery Council is on the hunt for a new CEO who will provide strategic vision and leadership for the next chapter of the organization’s development.
Catherine Sproule is currently serving as interim CEO.
The RJC is looking for an individual who will focus on engaging internationally with key market influencers and other contacts relevant to the jewelry industry, with India and China as priorities.
They also will continue to advance the council’s mission of striving to be the recognized standards and certification organization for supply chain integrity and sustainability in the industry, working closely with the council’s London office, the RJC said.
Applicants currently are being sought and the position description is available upon request. Gumuchian has hired Barbara Palumbo as its new director of business development for the southern part of the country.
Palumbo previously served as the vice president for sales for the Southeast region at Jeff Cooper Designs and the senior vice president for online retailer Union Diamond. She is the author of the jewelry blog Adornmentality.
Gail Kenny, a sales executive with more than 20 years of experience representing national fine jewelry brands, has re-joined A. Jaffe as sales director of the Midwest region.
Shawna Kulpa has been promoted to editor of the MJSA Journal, the organization’s monthly magazine, succeeding Tina Snyder. The appointment becomes effective at the end of the month.
A 14-year veteran of MJSA, Kulpa currently serves as its publications specialist and has been instrumental in the expansion and development of its overall publishing program. She coordinated the MJSA Journal’s editorial and oversaw development of its annual events calendar, in addition to editing books published by the association’s press division.
Kulpa also played a key role in the development of MJSA’s website, particularly the MJSA Online Journal section.
Asian Star Jewels Private Ltd., Bellon et Fils sas and Rubel & Menasche have been certified by the Responsible Jewellery Council for meeting the highest ethical, human rights, social and environmental standards, as established by the council’s member certification system.
