AWCI Will Offer Watch Battery Class to Atlanta Show Attendees
Certified Master Watchmaker Tom Schomaker will show students how to service watches to boost store revenue and improve customer service.

Atlanta—The American Watchmakers-Clockmakers Institute is offering Atlanta Jewelry Show attendees a full-day class on watch band and battery service.
Led by Certified Master Watchmaker Tom Schomaker, the 8-hour, hands-on “Making Money with Watch Bands & Batteries” class will delve into the ins-and-outs of replacing watch batteries and adjusting watch bands.
Schomaker, the AWCI’s principal watchmaking instructor, will show students all the necessary technical skills as well as how to avoid damaging a timepiece’s intricate inner components.
Topics will include tool preparation and maintenance, cell replacement, case opening, and electrical tests.
Attendees will receive a complimentary Bergeon tool kit and an assortment of Sony watch batteries from Kessler Batteries.
The Atlanta Jewelry Show will be held March 2 to 4 at the Cobb Galleria Centre, with a pre-show conference held March 1.
The watch class will take place Friday, March 1 from 8:30 a.m. to 6:15 p.m EST. The cost to register is $595.
