Rings of Strength Starting Line Moves North
Jewelers for Children’s annual charity race will begin at the Venetian in keeping with JCK Las Vegas’ return to the Sands.

Las Vegas—Jewelers for Children is moving the starting line of its annual Las Vegas race from Mandalay Bay to the Venetian in keeping with JCK Las Vegas as the jewelry trade show returns to the Sands.
The seventh annual Rings of Strength event is scheduled for Thursday, May 30 and will start at 5:30 a.m. to avoid the heat of the day.
As in years past, options for participation are a bike ride in the foothills of Red Rock Canyon, a 5K run or walk, or yoga. The exact route for the 5K run/walk has not yet been determined.
Those who wish to participate can sign up at RingsofStrength.org. There, participants will create their own fundraising page, which can be forwarded to friends and family to solicit donations.
Rings of Strength runners, walkers, bikers and yogis can sign up as individuals or create a team page.
All funds raised will benefit Jewelers for Children’s charity partners: St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, Make-A-Wish America and the National CASA Association. JFC also supports Make-A-Wish International and the Santa-America Fund.
JFC started Rings of Strength in 2013 after 2012 Facets of Hope speaker Maggie, a former St. Jude’s patient, told the story of giving her friend Odie a silver ring engraved with the word “Strength” while both were fighting cancer.
Each participant will receive a silver ring like the one Maggie gave Odie to commemorate their participation in the event. Ashi Diamonds is donating the rings.
JCK Events is the major sponsor of Rings of Strength, while Asurion, Freeman and CMAC also have signed on as sponsors.
