Katharine McPhee to Perform at 24 Karat Club NY Banquet
The annual black-tie event will move to the New York Hilton Midtown in the new year.
New York--After more than a century at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel, the 24 Karat Club of the City of New York’s annual Grand Banquet will move to the New York Hilton Midtown in 2018.
Taking place on Jan. 20, the 116th edition of the event will feature vocalist and actress Katharine McPhee as its live performer, partially sponsored by Bulova Timepieces, a Citizen Watch America brand. The acclaimed singer, who has released five albums including a recent collection of jazz standards, has starred on television series such as “Scorpion” and “Smash.”
“We look forward to another successful event and are thrilled to welcome Katharine McPhee as our performer for the evening,” club President Ronnie VanderLinden said in a press release. “This year we see a few changes, but are confident that it will be an evening to remember.”
The changes VanderLinden referenced include the move to the Hilton, which is due to the closing of the Waldorf Astoria last spring for a three-year renovation. The banquet has been held at a Waldorf Astoria property since 1913, at its prior location at the site of what is now the Empire State Building, and at its current Park Avenue address.
The banquet also is being held one week later than usual this time--January 20. The cocktail reception will begin at 5:30 p.m. and the banquet will commence at 7 p.m.
