GJEPC launches new jewelry show in Dubai

Dubai--The Dubai Multi Commodities Centre along with the Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council will premiere a new industry fair next month in Dubai, the Global Gem & Jewellery Fair.
The fair is scheduled for March 20 to 22 at Atlantis, a resort on Dubai’s reclaimed artificial island, The Palm.
More than 130 exhibitors will be participating in the show. Show organizers say they expect nearly 500 visitors from countries including Egypt, Lebanon, Bangladesh, Singapore, Eastern Europe, Russia and South Africa as well as from the Gulf Cooperation Council, which includes Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates. (The UAE consists of seven emirates, and Dubai is one of those.)
The DMCC said Dubai is ready to host a show because the emirate has emerged as a leading global center for the gold, diamond and precious gemstone trade, along with its infrastructure including cargo facilities, ports and airports connected to more than 200 destinations.
“It is vital to continuously create new opportunities to nurture international relations with strong trading partners such as India,” said Ahmed Bin Sulayem, executive chairman of the DMCC. “That is why we are collaborating with the GJEPC to introduce the inaugural Global Gem & Jewellery Fair to the region and the Gulf Cooperation Council market.”
Additional information on the show, including an exhibitor list, frequently asked questions and sponsorship opportunities, can be found on the Global Gem & Jewellery Fair website.
