It is located in Glens Falls, New York in the space once occupied by Scoville Jewelers.
Glens Falls, New York--In a time when the industry continues to consolidate, New York retailer Northeastern Fine Jewelers keeps growing.
Earlier this month, the Schenectady-based jeweler announced that it was opening its fourth location this month in downtown Glens Falls, New York. It will be 2,500 square feet in size, occupying the space that once belonged to Scoville Jewelers.
Scoville Jewelers, which opened in 1952, closed at the end of 2016. According to The Post-Star in Glens Falls, owners Chris Scoville and Debra Vales planned to retire and travel the world for a year while leasing the space to another retailer.
The new Northeastern store will carry Hearts On Fire, Forevermark, Charles Krypell, Tacori, Simon G, Michele and Phillips House, among other brands.
It also will be the exclusive retailer in New York for CS Designs, jewelry designed by Chris Scoville, and will continue to give complimentary cleanings and inspections to consumers with Scoville Diamond Warranties.
The new Northeastern store will have five employees including former Scoville employee Jen Carusone.
Serving as store manager will be Noah Illinski, who has been a store manager with Northeastern since 2015.
He has more than decade of high-end customer service retail experience, previously working as an assistant general manager at Giorgio Armani. Illinski holds credentials from the American Gem Society and a master’s certificate from Omega Watch Group.
A native of South Glens Falls, Carusone joins Northeastern as a sales associate. She has a decade of experience in the jewelry business and has been recognized for outstanding service on numerous occasions by Hearts On Fire.
Ray Bleser opened his store as Northeastern Coin Gallery in Schenectady in 1980, transitioning to focus on fine jewelry five years later and rebranding to become Northeastern Fine Jewelry.
The retailer’s flagship store in Schenectady underwent a $1.8 million expansion in 2012 that more than doubled its showroom space. Its Albany location currently is being renovated and expanded as well, and the retailer also has a store in New York City’s Diamond District.
Northeastern Fine Jewelry has 40 full- and part-time associates.
