Salinas, Calif.--Family-owned retailer Andrus Jewelers is closing its doors after six decades in business. The company will hold a final going-out-of-business sale before closing for good.
Jeff Andrus, president and second-generation family member to run the store, is retiring to pursue other interests.
“The decision to close our family business was one of the most difficult I’ve ever had to make,” he said. “My parents, Alva and Rosemary, opened the doors to Andrus Jewelers during the ‘50s, so I literally grew up in the business. But it’s time for a decisive move.”
Located at 236 South Main St. in Salinas, Andrus Jewelers will open its doors to the public for a final liquidation sale from now through the end of the year. It will offer its entire inventory of fine diamond, precious and semi-precious gemstone jewelry.
The company has not yet established when the last day will be.
“Our closing provides a tremendous opportunity for our clients and friends to purchase special gifts from Andrus at prices that otherwise would not be possible,” Andrus said. “We planned the event just before the holidays as a way to say thank you for the support of our valued friends and customers throughout the years.”
“We have been privileged to participate in so many important milestones in their lives, and have our own wonderful memories of those experiences. We look forward to assisting everyone one last time during the sale.”
