Seeing Red at Etho Maria
At Baselworld, the Greek brand showed a collection that focused on red ceramic and white diamonds.
Basel--Greek fine jewelry brand Etho Maria showed four new collections at Baselworld last month, and the biggest departure was “Diamonds in Red.”
Known for unique, intricate and hand-crafted pieces, the color in Etho Maria’s collections is typically supplied by gemstones, with an occasional dip into black or pastel-colored ceramic.
Diamonds in Red, however, featured a new look for the brand, courtesy of a striking red shade of ceramic.
The brand said that the range was “inspired by the intense emotional power of the color red,” and was intended to be worn both day and night.
The ceramic, which is plated over 18-karat white gold, perfectly offsets the white diamonds adorning rings, earrings and bracelets.
Diamonds in Red features varying cuts of the stone, including pear, marquise, oval and round brilliant.
The collection will hit stores in May and will be on view at the upcoming Couture show in Las Vegas.
Retail prices range from $2,000 to $15,000.
