The fair is happening Friday at the Javits Center in New York, ahead of the JA New York Spring jewelry trade show.
New York—On Friday, Gemological Institute of America President and CEO Susan Jacques will head a panel discussion featuring leading jewelry executives ahead of the GIA Jewelry Career Fair in New York.
Lisa Bridge, president and CEO of Ben Bridge Jeweler; Hearts On Fire President Caryl Capeci; Timothy B. Matthews, president and CEO of Jewelry Television; Lisa Nik Inc. President Lisa Nikfarjam; and Daniel Wisner, assistant technical designer at Alexis Bittar, will share their thoughts and experience on success in today’s market.
Registration opens at 9:30 a.m., with the panel discussion scheduled to begin at 10:10.
The GIA Jewelry Career Fair will follow at 11:30 a.m. and conclude at 2 p.m.
It will feature more than 50 companies recruiting for staff gemologists, jewelry designers, buyers and more. Companies set to attend include Oscar Heyman, David Yurman, London Jewelers and The RealReal.
In addition, the GIA will have 25 career coaches on hand covering 13 different areas of the industry. The coaches will talk to attendees about how to advance their careers.
In years past, the GIA’s New York career fair has been held in July in conjunction with the JA New York Summer show. This year, it is taking place in March ahead of JA New York Spring, as JA New York Summer moves to August.
The GIA will have additional career fairs in London on April 5 and in Carlsbad, California on Oct. 11.
