A new program to help move old inventory
The Edge Retail Academy has introduced a multi-tiered, targeted program to help jewelers reduce aging inventory and keep the cash flow going.
Las Vegas--The Edge Retail Academy has introduced a program meant to address what it sees as one of the most common issues for jewelers--aging inventory.
The new industry-specific program guides retailers through multiple turn-key strategies to reduce aged inventory by focusing on product selection, re-pricing, store setup, event planning, marketing, and point-of-sale programs.
Rather than a one-size-fits-all program, it is tailored to fit the needs of each jeweler, The Edge Retail Academy said.
It’s also a tiered mentoring system, offering support for every level and timeframe. Retailers can choose a program that includes the turn-key strategies in addition to four hours of remote project mentoring and a video training package, or they could select a more intensive program, adding one, two, or three days of onsite training.

“How long it will actually take to clear out a jeweler’s inventory depends on several factors,” said David Brown, co-founder and president of Edge Retail Academy. “Some of our clients have a great deal of aging inventory, some don’t have as much. It’s also dependent upon their level of commitment. If they’re willing to be proactive about putting our program’s strategies into place, they can clear out even a large inventory in a surprisingly short time.”
