New York--The FBI is offering a reward for information that leads to the arrest of a suspect involved in violent jewelry store “smash-and-grab” robberies across three states.
Ralik Hansen, 28, has been charged in the Jan. 30 robbery of Cartier’s flagship Fifth Avenue store in midtown Manhattan, where suspects stole approximately $700,000 worth of watches.
Authorities believe that a total of five men were involved in the robbery, and the other four have been arrested and charged in Manhattan Federal Court for that incident and a number of other high-profile heists. Hansen is now being sought by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the New York City Police Department.
He also is wanted for his participation in at least two other jewelry store robberies in New Jersey and Virginia.
The FBI describes Hansen as a black male who is 6’1” and weighs approximately 205 pounds. He was last seen with a shaved head, and also has noticeable scars on his left wrist and left elbow.
The bureau notes that he should be considered armed and dangerous. His whereabouts are currently unknown.
The FBI said that Hansen is a member of a violent interstate robbery crew from Brooklyn and is known to frequent several locations in the area. He also has family in the state of Georgia.
The bureau currently is offering a “significant reward” for any tip that leads to his arrest.
Anyone with more information can call the FBI at 212-384-1000. Tipsters will remain anonymous.
