JA to live stream 2015 Gem Awards
For the first time, Jewelers of America will broadcast live its annual Gem Awards ceremony on Jan. 9 through streaming television.
New York--For the first time, Jewelers of America will broadcast live its annual Gem Awards ceremony on Jan. 9 through streaming television.
Coverage of the event through broadcast video will begin at 7 p.m. EST, with red carpet arrivals of nominees, presenters and celebrities.
The event will continue at 8 p.m. with the announcement of the Gem Award winners in the three categories as well as the acceptance speech of Larry Pelzel, vice president and divisional merchandise manager of precious jewels at Neiman Marcus and recipient of the 2015 Gem Award for Lifetime Achievement.

“Gem Awards is a high-energy evening unlike any other event in our industry,” said Gem Awards Chair Norman Miller of Niche Media. “The live stream will allow anyone connected to the jewelry industry, connected to the nominees, and those who love jewelry to tune in and be part of the excitement.”
Last year, JA also started announcing the winners in a new format, with winners being announced live during the ceremony.
