Jewelers’ fundraising to benefit hospital center
The Healthy Lifestyles Center at the Children’s Hospital of Richmond at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) will receive $10,425 thanks to a dozen Richmond jewelers who raised money for the center via a raffle.

Richmond--The Healthy Lifestyles Center at the Children’s Hospital of Richmond at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) will receive $10,425 thanks to a dozen Richmond jewelers who raised money for the center via a raffle.
This is the fourth year the jewelers have come together to create the “Jewels” raffle for the Children’s Hospital Foundation Ball, which marked its 50th anniversary this year. Funds raised during this year’s ball benefit the Healthy Lifestyles Center.
Each jeweler donated a piece with a retail value of $1,500 for the raffle, including a 14-karat two-tone gold diamond pavé necklace and an 18-karat white gold, cabochon emerald and diamond ring. Designers given for the auction include Roberto Coin, John Hardy and Charles Krypell.
Jewelers participating in the raffle were Cheryl Fornash Jewelers, Adolf Jewelers, Carreras Jewelers, Charles Schwarzschild Jewelers, Cowardin’s Jewelers, Dransfield’s Jewelers, Fink's Jewelers, Jack Kreuter Jewelers,
Schwarzschild Jewelers, Saks Fifth Avenue, Vera’s Fine Jewelers and Victoria Charles Jewellery.
“I’ve been very impressed with the cooperation that I’ve received from all of the participating jewelers. Our annual Jewels raffle provides a way we can work together to make a meaningful donation to the community,” said Cheryl Fornash, principal of Cheryl Fornash Jewelers.
Since 2011, the Jewels raffle has raised more than $61,400 for non-profit organizations in Richmond, including $14,500 for the VCU Massey Cancer Center and $13,525 for the Children’s Hospital Foundation.
