Distraction thieves strike again, this time in NJ
A trio of jewelry thieves who first hit a store in Illinois in August are believed to have struck again, the Jewelers’ Security Alliance (JSA) reports.
Robbinsville, N.J.--A trio of jewelry thieves who first hit a store in Illinois in August are believed to have struck again, the Jewelers’ Security Alliance (JSA) reports.
According to a JSA bulletin issued Thursday, on Tuesday a Hispanic male entered a jewelry store in Robbinsville at 5:50 p.m. About 10 minutes later, a Hispanic male and a female came into the store together.
While the couple distracted the owner, the single male stole loose diamonds, the JSA said.
The first male is described as 35 to 40 years old and 5 feet tall while the second male, the one who entered the store with the woman, is believed to be between 50 and 60 years old. The female suspect is described as being between 25 and 35 years old, 5 feet 10 inches tall with shoulder-length brown hair.
According to the JSA, the suspects left in two different cars, one of which is believed to be a black Audi A4 made between 2000 and 2006 with a Pennsylvania license plate.
Anyone with information in the crime is asked to call Detectives Galazka or Colgan with the Robbinsville Township Police at 609-259-3900.
The JSA said that jewelry criminals are known to travel and almost always repeat the same type of crime. “It is very important to take all the suspects pictured in JSA’s alerts and the cases very seriously, even if the crimes reported did not happen in your area. These criminals may come through your door tomorrow,” the JSA said.
