Lauren Mandel has been appointed CEO of Sorrelli, a family-owned and operated jewelry company based out of Kutztown, Pa.
Mandel will oversee all aspects of managing the Sorrelli business, including production in the company-owned facility, the wholesale division that services boutiques and major retailers like Amazon and Anthropologie, and the retail division that is currently prepping to open its second branded store in Montclair, N.J.
Prior to joining Sorrelli, Mandel founded eyewear business TwoEyes. She also served as group president for Victoria & Company, working on the Napier and Nine West fashion jewelry divisions, and was the vice president of women’s accessories at Macy’s East, a division of Federated Department Stores.
Designer David Yurman has named his son, Evan Yurman, as chief design director of the David Yurman brand.
He will report to CEO Glen Senk, overseeing all of the design teams and taking part in the brand’s international expansion efforts as it focuses on its growth as an independent business.
Yurman, who joined the family company in 2004, most recently served as the design director of men’s, timepieces, fine jewelry and wedding collections.
The Gem & Lapidary Dealers Association (GLDA) has contracted Robert Bridel of Robert Bridel & Associates as the official sales representative of GLDA Las Vegas.
Bridel has served as the president of Gordon’s Jewelers Inc. and Barry’s Jewelers Inc. (now Samuels Jewelers) and was the executive director and CEO of the American Gem Society.
He began Robert Bridel & Associates in 2002, managing Prestige Promenade, a pavilion of more than 160 booths at the JCK Las Vegas show, from 2002 to 2012.
The GLDA Las Vegas show is slated for May 26 to 29 at the Mirage Hotel and Casino.
