Celebrity Jewelry Gawk™ – Winter sparkle
Although the colder months at the end of the year usually lend themselves to darker clothing and accessories, celebrities have been keeping fall looking bright and sparkly, especially on the red carpet (which is, quite enviously, usually rolled out in a warmer climate).
Semi-precious gemstones set in precious metals have been a popular combination, especially with vivid, opaque gems like chrysoprase, moonstone and turquoise. Circular and geometric-shaped jewelry is also prevalent, especially in earrings and rings.

The Good Wife’s Kristin Chenoweth (below) wore Bavna’s 18-karat gold and diamond and chrysoprase onstage at the 2012 American Country Awards, held in Las Vegas on Dec. 10.
Angela Kinsey from The Office wore Sholdt’s palladium and diamond earrings (below) to the premiere of This is 40 in Los Angeles 12.
Singer Jewel (below) wore Allia’s large white quartz Jigsaw chunky hoops ($5,590) and Demarco’s diamond Flower ring ($29,925) to the 2012 American Country Awards in Las Vegas on Dec. 10.
Hayden Panettiere of Nashville wore Sutra’s 18-karat gold diamond and turquoise ring ($6,500) to the 2012 CMT Artists of the Year event held on Dec. 3 in Franklin, Tenn.
Twilight’s Dakota Fanning wore Graziela’s A Peachy moonstone ring (below, $1,600) to a screening of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 in New York.
Also wearing Graziela jewelry recently was Modern Family’s Julie Bowen (below), who donned the brand’s Red Velvet ring ($4,200), made with rhodonite and black diamonds, to the launch of Tie the Knot Charity in Hollywood.
Singer Natasha Bedingfield wore DeLatori’s sterling silver with 18-karat gold overlay ring with garnet and white topaz ($1,195), sterling silver with 18-karat gold overlay bangle ($1,250) and sterling silver with 18-karat gold overlay bangle with turquoise ($1,195) to the American Country Awards in Las Vegas Dec. 10.
