Niru Diamonds among Israel’s ‘outstanding’ exporters

Ramat Gan--Niru Diamonds Israel was one of 10 companies lauded for its exporting accomplishments during a ceremony held Sunday at the residence of Israeli President Reuven Rivlin.
The company, which was Israel’s fourth largest diamond exporter in 2013, received one of the country’s “Outstanding Exporter” awards for 2013, a year in which the company shipped out $112 million in polished diamonds. In addition to diamonds, exporter awards went to companies in other categories, including advanced technology and traditional industries.
Israel’s Minister of the Economy Naftali Bennett, who attended the ceremony along with Rivlin, said: “Israeli exports are a major part of this country’s economic strength. Israeli creativity drives our industries, both in quality of products and in the ability to break into new markets and expand our reach in existing ones.”
Established in 1979 by Ranjeet Barmecha, Niru Diamonds Israel became a member of the Israel Diamond Exchange the following year.
Today, the company has sales and manufacturing facilities around the world, including in Geneva, New York, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Sri Lanka and Dubai.
Niru Diamonds Israel is a leading manufacturer of princess- and baguette-cut diamonds and specializes in precision setting, making it one of the top suppliers of diamonds for high-end Swiss watches.
