Digital roundup: Hamilton Jewelers, Tacori, more

A blog on straight and same-gender wedding jewelry and a new engagement ring application from a retailer are among the most recent online developments in the industry.

New York--A blog on straight and same-gender wedding jewelry and a new engagement ring application from a retailer are among the most recent online developments in the industry.

Designer Rony Tennenbaum will launch “Rony Talks,” a column on wedding jewelry etiquette that will run on Love Inc, a wedding website and digital magazine for couples of all orientations.

The column will debut Oct. 8. Tennenbaum will provide readers with jewelry news, fashion, protocol, wedding and engagement themes, and tips and advice.

The designer has 25 years of experience, and launched his same-gender engagement, wedding and anniversary rings in 2008 after recognizing the need for LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) wedding jewelry beyond rainbows and triangles.

Tennenbaum was a contributor to Engagement 101 magazine and GayWeddings.com. Love Inc, with the “Inc” standing for “inclusive,” features content catering to both straight and same-gender couples.

Hamilton Jewelers has launched “With This Ring …,” an interactive ring builder app that walks couples through the process of designing their ideal engagement ring.

The app is available for iPhones and iPads.

Users first select one of Hamilton’s engagement rings, from a solitaire to three-stone setting. They then are prompted to select a loose diamond based on cut, color and clarity.

Also included on the app is educational information including the 4Cs, proposal ideas for prospective grooms-to-be, the ability to bookmark a favorite design or designs they are working on and videos of Hamilton crafting its jewelry.

The With This Ring … app joins Hamilton Jewelers’ iCatalog+ app, which allows users to browse and shop the retailer’s latest catalogs.

Hamilton Jewelers has locations in New Jersey and Palm Beach, Fla.

Gemfields is now selling an exclusive collection of its collaboration jewelry on CoutureLab, a London-based boutique and e-commerce site.

The curated collection will feature colored stone jewelry from designers including Alexandra Mor, Fernando Jorge and Shaun Leane, all whom create one-of-a-kind pieces with Gemfields’ Zambian emeralds and amethysts and Mozambican rubies.

The CoutureLab launch marks Gemfields’ first complete collection with a single retailer.

Tacori’s website, Tacori.com, was recognized as the Best Catalog Website at the 2013 WebAwards.

Hosted by the Web Marketing Association, the WebAwards is the longest-running annual website awards competition dedicated to naming the best online properties and setting the standard of excellence for all website development. This year marked the 17th edition of the awards.

Tacori.com allows visitors to

shop up to 1,000 items from Tacori’s bridal and fashion collections with navigational tools enabling them to search by price, color and stone.

The site is compatible with mobile devices and each individual product is fully intact with social media capabilities.

Tacori’s site also features its short film Par Chance, which explores the idea that true love can occur by chance.

More than 1,500 entries were reviewed for this year’s WebAwards, and were judged on design, copywriting, innovation, content, interactivity, navigation and use of technology.
