Diamond Dealer Jeff Pancis Pens Memoir
The founder of natural colored diamond wholesaler Pancis Gems shares stories from his five decades in the industry.

In “Unveiling Rarities,” Pancis shares his experience with dealing rare gemstones, international trading, taking risks, lifelong friendships, and building a business.
It begins with Pancis, the son of Holocaust survivors, recounting his family’s move to America.
He entered New York City's Diamond District in 1975 and founded Pancis Gems the following year.
The book details Pancis’ journey to build his business and his role in introducing rare colored diamonds to collectors and jewelers across the country.
It includes stories of dramatic negotiations, meetings with royalty and world-renowned diamond experts, multimillion-dollar transactions, international travel, and the personal challenges that shaped his career.
Also in the book, Pancis writes about a devastating 1999 robbery that nearly destroyed his business and the resilience he said enabled him to rebuild and continue earning the trust of clients throughout the jewelry industry.
More than a business memoir, “Unveiling Rarities” is a story of perseverance, family, integrity, and the pursuit of excellence, the author said.
It offers a rare look into the diamond trade while honoring the generational values passed down by Pancis’ parents, who believed that honesty and hard work were life's greatest treasures.
Through his book, Pancis hopes to inspire entrepreneurs, history enthusiasts, jewelry lovers, and anyone who believes that determination can transform humble beginnings into an extraordinary life.
Today, the company goes by Gems by Pancis and is led by second-generation owner Kyle Pancis, who continues to focus on spreading the knowledge and appreciation of natural colored diamonds through elegant designs and extensive inventory.
“Unveiling Rarities” is Pancis’ first book.
It was published on July 15 by Montlake Publishers and is available on Amazon as a hardcover for $34.99. Paperback and Kindle editions will release in the future.
