2026 Emmys Jewelry: An Either/Or Proposition

Stars wore either a necklace or earrings at 78th Primetime Emmy Awards but rarely both, Natalie Francisco notes.

Florence Pugh was one of the celebrities on the Primetime Emmy Awards’ peacock blue carpet sporting a standout necklace. It was all about the earrings at the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards, with many celebrities (or their stylists) leaving the necklaces at home.

That is, unless the celebrity wore a standout necklace. In that case, they walked the blue carpet without earrings at the awards ceremony, which was held Monday night at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles to honor the best in television.

White metals continued to trend and pearls were added to the list of go-to materials for celebrities like “Euphoria” star Zendaya in Mikimoto’s “Petals” collection and Ayo Edebiri of “The Bear,” who also wore Mikimoto pieces.

Read on to see my favorite jewelry looks from the Emmys that both fit and defy the trends seen on the award show’s peacock blue carpet.

Shailene Woodley was one of the stars to choose a necklace as the only piece of jewelry she’d wear to the awards show, and from the second my eyes landed on her choice, I immediately recognized it.

I’ve been obsessed with the HOWL necklace she wore since it debuted at Couture earlier this year.

The “Frida” collar was our Piece of the Week in July.

It features 13 hand-carved Venetian glass pieces in HOWL’s 18-karat yellow gold “Crest” setting spaced by 3.08 carats of old European-cut diamonds.

The blue carpet opened with a showstopping necklace worn by Lisa Rinna.

The high jewelry piece by Jacob & Co. centers a 42.73-carat octagonal blue sapphire framed by marquise- and round-cut diamonds in white gold suspended from a diamond line necklace with a second blue sapphire.

For Rinna’s look she kept the focus on the necklace, styling it with a pair of diamond studs, a simple ring on one hand and a large cocktail ring on the other.

Selena Gomez

Selena Gomez was on-trend at the awards show with her Tiffany & Co. jewels: earrings and no necklace.

For her earrings she chose a trailing pair of “Bird on a Rock by Tiffany & Co. Feathers” featuring more than 2 carats of diamonds set in platinum with accents of 18-karat yellow gold.

She coordinated it with the matching “Bird on a Rock by Tiffany & Co. Feathers” bracelet that uses more than 10 carats of diamonds with platinum and 18-karat yellow gold.

For her rings she styled the gold, platinum, and diamond “Jean Schlumberger by Tiffany & Co. Stitches” ring with the “Jean Sclumberger by Tiffany & Co. Vigne” ring, and the “Sixteen Stone by Tiffany & Co.” ring in yellow gold and platinum with diamonds.

Gomez styled these jewels with a gold Louis Vuitton dress evoking old Hollywood glamour.

However, the “Only Murders in the Building” star wasn’t the only celebrity to cover themselves in gold.

“Hacks” star and Emmy nominee Meg Stalter walked the blue carpet painted head to toe in gold to transform herself into the Emmy statuette.

Her look included gold jewelry and while there’s no word yet on who the designer was, we can confirm that Stalter stayed on trend, too: she wore a necklace but no earrings.

Another jaw-dropping necklace was on the décolletage of Florence Pugh, who is also pictured at the top of the article.

In May, Pugh was named a Bulgari brand ambassador so it’s not surprising that she wore the jeweler’s 18-karat pink gold high jewelry necklace.

It features 5 pear-shaped morganites totaling 40.97 carats spaced by 4 pear-shaped green tourmalines totaling 29.99 carats and 12 round diamonds as well as additional pavé-set diamonds totaling 16.04 carats.

While some who wore necklaces on the Emmy red carpet paired them with smaller earrings, Pugh wore no earrings at all.

However, she did wear a Bulgari high jewelry ring centering an oval spinel set in 18-karat pink gold and accented by 10 buff-top pink tourmalines, 10 step-cut diamonds, and pavé-set diamonds.

“Hacks” star Hannah Einbinder graced the red carpet in a unique gold collar by Ana Khouri.

Khouri received the Gem Award for High Jewelry Excellence earlier this year.

The necklace is minimalistic, featuring twisting 18-karat yellow gold and an 11.10-carat pear-shaped diamond set in rock crystal.

Colman Domingo
Colman Domingo, a Boucheron brand ambassador, of course wore pieces by the jeweler but for this blue carpet he looked to the past.

Holding the sash around his waist was the “Green Garden” double clip brooch from Boucheron’s “Like a Queen” high jewelry collection.

It features green tourmaline and diamond pavé with green lacquer over white gold.

In an interview, Domingo credited the brooch’s inspiration to a piece Boucheron made for Princess Elizabeth to receive on her 18th birthday in 1944.

Domingo styled the brooch with a large “Quatre Radiant” ring with white gold and diamonds and a small “Quatre Black” ring with black PVD, diamonds, and white gold.

He also wore the “Quatre Black” bracelet and the “Quatre Radiant” earrings, which feature yellow and white gold with diamond accents.

Emmy Rossum
Closing out my 2026 Emmys jewelry roundup is Emmy Rossum.

She skipped a necklace in favor of Victorian-era earrings and a ring from Fred Leighton.

The earrings showcase old mine-cut diamonds in a foliate motif set in silver over gold while the navette ring centers a pear-shaped diamond in silver over gold.
