Pinterest 2026 Trend Report: Brooches, Bold Gold, Cool Blue
In its annual report, Pinterest noted an increase in searches for brooches, heirloom jewelry, and ‘80s luxury.

This week, the social media platform released its “Pinterest Predicts” trend report for 2026, highlighting 21 growing trends it believes will take over next year, several of which are rooted in the maximalist aesthetic and eccentric styles.
Trends are growing 4.4x faster than they were seven years ago, Pinterest said.
Overall, today’s consumers are focused on comfort, personal expression, and escapism. They’re drawn to trends that align with who they are or aspire to be, Pinterest noted.
Nostalgia is a common theme throughout the report, with increased searches for vintage jewelry and Art Deco design, as consumers seek styles they can reclaim to fuse the past and the present—a theme seen in several recent high-profile engagements this year.
In 2025, celebrities like Zendaya, Taylor Swift, and Miley Cyrus debuted engagement rings with a blend of vintage and modern design elements.
Below, National Jeweler highlights six predicted Pinterest trends for 2026 that are germane to jewelry, from brooches to blue to “extra celestial.”
“Brooched”
It’s time to break out your brooches.
These ornate pins are one of the major jewelry styles set to rule 2026, according to Pinterest, with searches for “brooch aesthetic” up 110 percent.
It predicts that men, specifically millennials (ages 28-43) and baby boomers (age 60 and older), will accessorize with vintage pins, crystal clip-ons, and heirloom brooches.
In addition, “Poetcore,” another predicted trend that sees Gen Zers (ages 18-27) and millennials wearing oversized turtlenecks, vintage blazers, and messenger satchels, could ignite demand for “tie accessories,” a search term that increased by 85 percent.
Pinterest searches for “maximalist accessories” are also up 105 percent, possibly hinting towards more men wearing multiple brooches on their lapel in 2026.
“Heirloom jewelry” is growing as well, up 45 percent in searches on Pinterest.
Pinterest said, “It’s part homage, part reinvention. If your grandma wouldn’t wear it, is it even the vibe?”
It predicts the “Neo Deco,” meaning “new art deco” or “modern art deco,” trend will be big next year too.
The aesthetic fuses the 1920s design style with modern elements—think contemporary chevron motifs and fan arches—while retaining Art Deco’s signature boldness and geometry.
“Glamoratti”
Chunky gold jewelry has been a hit this year, and the trend is set to continue into 2026.
Despite the price of gold being nearly $4,300 an ounce as of press time, consumers are not shying away from making an investment in the chunky pieces they love.
Jewelry will get chunkier, bolder, and “golder,” Pinterest said, in line with the decadent aesthetic of the trend it is calling “Glamoratti.”
This trend looks to ‘80s luxury, a term for which Pinterest searches have increased by 225 percent.
When it comes to specific pieces, searches for “gold cuff” are up 50 percent.
“Glitchy Glam”
In 2026, asymmetry—i.e., mismatched earrings—is predicted to be even more popular.
Pinterest noted that Gen Zers and millennials will continue to gravitate towards mismatched manicures, two-tone lipstick, and bright eyeshadow in binary hues.
Searches for “nails with different colors on each hand” are up 125 percent, while searches for “avant-garde makeup editorial” are up 270 percent.
“Cool Blue”
Although Pantone has selected a hazy shade of white for its 2026 color of the year, the color that stands out to Pinterest for 2026 is a cool-toned blue.
It predicts a rise in “glacier-inspired accessories”—think icicle-esque diamond drop earrings and aquamarine rings.
Searches for “icy blue” are up 50 percent, while searches for “ice blue wedding dress” increased by 55 percent.
“Wilderkind”
Animal aesthetics with a delicate touch are set to be a big trend in 2026, according to Pinterest, which predicts a rise in adornments that “hint at forest magic.”
National Jeweler Senior Editor Lenore Fedow must have had her crystal ball out when she wrote about bug jewelry this Halloween because it is expected to trend in 2026.
According to Pinterest, searches for “bug jewelry” are up 60 percent.
Searches for “dragonfly nails” are also up 145 percent.
“Extra Celestial”
Gen Zers and millennials are going intergalactic in 2026, Pinterest said.
Searches for the word “opalescent” are up 115 percent, and searches for “alien core aesthetic” are up 80 percent.
In jewelry, this extra-terrestrial trend can be expressed through motifs like aliens, stars, and spaceships; gemstones like opals and moonstone; and cool-toned metals like platinum and white gold.
“In 2026, people will make these trends their own, put unique spins on each, and ensure that what’s trending never comes at the cost of personal expression,” said Pinterest Global Head of Trends and Insights Sydney Stanback.
The report calculated changes in searches from September 2024 to August 2025 and compared it against searches from September 2023 to August 2025.
