Ashley Zhang Launches Garçon New York
The designer, who is the creative force behind her namesake brand, has now started a new mini line focusing on chains for fathers and sons.

Zhang, who is the founder and designer of Ashley Zhang Jewelry, has launched a mini line for fathers and sons called Garçon New York.
Garçon New York is a line that is centered around simple chains with a modern feel for fathers that also are wearable and cool for kids.
“At its core, Garçon New York is about simplicity, quality, and everyday wear, with pieces that can be cherished by both father and son,” said the brand.
Necklaces and bracelets are offered in different sizes across five styles that range from wheat chains to rope chains and Cuban chains.
Zhang created Garçon New York after she noticed a gap in the market for fine and demi-fine jewelry designed for young boys.
She was constantly being asked about the chains that her husband and children were wearing, which were pieces that she made.
Her new line is meant to bridge this space by offering complementary styles for young and older men to create an effortless, modern family connection.
“As a jewelry designer, my inspiration and work expands beyond my work week and office. I absolutely love having sons but dressing them and finding special items for them is significantly harder than if I had daughters,” Zhang said.
When her first son was almost 2 years old, she made him a chain that he loved wearing, then she made one for her husband, and later one for her second son when he was old enough.
“Over time, I got so many compliments on their chains that this line just felt needed. Even though gold is currently at a record high, there is something special about these simple chains that make them perfect as keepsakes or heirlooms to pass down to their own kids someday,” she added.
While the Garçon New York brand debuted with chains on Sept. 8, Zhang said that she sees customizable pieces, different chain styles, and perhaps some simple apparel in its future.
“As for the brand, at this point, we think our draw is in our simplicity and minimalism, but of course, expansion is only natural for a product like this … We are excited to see what resonates with our customers and go from there,” Zhang said.
Garçon New York’s offerings retail from $80 to $2,250.
There are chains available in 14-karat yellow and white gold, 10-karat yellow gold, and sterling silver.
The line can be found on the Garçon New York website.
