Tiffany Stevens Exits IGI, Lab Appoints New Board Leader
Industry veteran Anoop Mehta is the new chairman and independent director of the IGI board.

Her final day was June 13.
“We extend our sincere thanks to Tiffany for her contributions during her time at IGI and wish her all the best in her future endeavors,” the lab said.
IGI is currently in the process of identifying her successor.
Stevens, the former CEO of the Jewelers Vigilance Committee, took over the position in July 2024, succeeding Avi Levy.
In her time with the lab, Stevens was involved in taking IGI into the Indian public market.
In a LinkedIn post, she wrote, “I was also delighted to expand upon my expertise by working at the intersection of science, global trade, sustainability, and technology, which the reach and impact of IGI positioned me to do.”
She added, “Working in such an impactful role and collaborating with our clients has been a truly enriching experience.”
Also, the lab has named Anoop Vrajlal Mehta as chairman and independent director of the IGI board.
Mehta brings more than five decades of experience in the Indian and international gem and jewelry industries.
Currently, he is chairman and managing director of Mohit Diamonds Pvt. Ltd.
He is also president of the Bharat Diamond Bourse (BDB). The BDB was inaugurated in 2010 under Mehta’s stewardship and has since positioned India prominently on the global diamond map, said IGI.
Mehta also serves on key industry bodies, including the World Federation of Diamond Bourses and the Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC).
“We are honored to welcome Mr. Anoop Mehta to IGI’s board. A true veteran of the diamond industry, Mr. Mehta brings a wealth of knowledge, deep-rooted insight, and strategic vision,” said Tehmasp Printer, global CEO of IGI.
“His extensive experience within the global diamond ecosystem will be invaluable in shaping IGI’s direction and advancing our mission to lead with expertise and integrity in gemological science.”
Mehta is a visionary leader, said IGI, and his appointment reinforces the organization’s commitment to excellence, transparency, and responsible growth within the gems and jewelry industry.
He has received multiple Lifetime Achievement Awards, including from the GJEPC, and his leadership continues to inspire transformation in the trade, said the lab.
“The appointment underlines IGI’s focus on strengthening governance, enhancing stakeholder value, and playing a vital role in shaping the future of the diamond and jewelry sector in India and beyond,” said Printer.
Commenting on his new role, Mehta said, “IGI has long been a pillar of trust and expertise in gem certification. I look forward to contributing to its legacy of excellence and supporting its growth ambitions, especially in an era where consumer confidence and authenticity are paramount.”
