92NY Accepting 2025 Jewelry Artist Residency Applications
The application period is now open for established and emerging jewelers and metalsmiths to apply to the month-long residency program.
The program will run from Aug. 14 to Sept. 18, allowing one artist to develop a new body of work or complete research. Applications are due by March 31.
New York—The 92nd Street Y (92NY) Jewelry Center has opened the application period for its 2025 Jewelry Artist Residency.
The juried residency was created for cutting-edge, emerging, and established jewelers and metalsmiths to develop their work in the New York City art scene.
It will provide the opportunity for one artist, with studio-based practice, to develop a new body of work or complete research, as well as engage with the cultural community.
In past years, the juries included esteemed artists, curators, and museum professionals from major cultural institutions and auction houses in New York City.
“Now in its seventh year as the only residency devoted to jewelry artists and based in N.Y.C., we welcome submissions from the United States and around the world,” said Jonathan Wahl, director of the 92NY Jewelry Center.
The residency will run from Aug. 14 to Sept. 18.
Along with access to a 24-hour private studio working space, the program includes accommodation in a studio apartment with a private bathroom and kitchenette in the 92NY residence and covers travel expenses to and from New York City.
During the last weekend of their residency, the artist will have the opportunity to share their aesthetic, technical, or design style with the community through a two-day lecture and workshop at the 92NY Jewelry Center.
The program will also expand their artistic and professional development through professional meetings with participating cultural institutions.

The Jewelry Artist Residency is a self-directed program.
Proposals must be compatible with available working studio spaces, facilities, and resources.
Interested applicants must submit an application and supporting materials, including work samples that were completed in the last two years and 10 digital images.
A rotating panel of experts and professionals in the arts and humanities will independently review the applications and materials.
The panel will judge based on artistic merit and promise as the basis for their selections, with the relevancy of how the New York City environment will affect the artist’s work being highly weighed in the selection process.
The selected jeweler or metalsmith will be notified by mid-April.
The deadline to submit an application is March 31.
