Foundrae Donates $11K to Ethical Metalsmiths
The donation was the result of the brand’s annual Earth Day Ingot event.

New York—Foundrae has donated $11,000 to Ethical Metalsmiths (d/b/a Community for Ethical Jewelry) as part of the brand’s annual Earth Day Ingot program.
The partnership between the brand and the nonprofit is now in its third year.
“We launched our Ingot program as a way to connect our designs with deeper meaning and action,” said Beth Hutchens, creative director and co-founder of Foundrae.
“Ethical Metalsmiths is doing important work to push the industry forward in terms of transparency and sustainability. We are honored to contribute to their mission each year.”
For the program, Foundrae’s clients donate $500 to Ethical Metalsmiths and Foundrae then creates an “Ingot” pendant using the clients’ own precious metal.
The process is meant to give new life to unused jewelry, with clients bringing in eight to 10 grams of gold or silver to be melted down and repurposed into the pendant.
If they do not have enough metal to melt, they can buy Fairmined gold for the piece.
“Collaborations like this are essential to driving real change within the jewelry industry,” said Brandee Dallow, president of Ethical Metalsmiths.
“Support from purpose-driven brands like Foundrae not only provides crucial funding for our programs, but also helps amplify the message of ethical responsibility to a wider audience. We are incredibly grateful for Foundrae’s generous donation and their ongoing commitment to making a positive impact.”
