The Most Important “C” in Diamonds: Confidence!

Without the ability to instill confidence within the industry and directly to the consumer, a diamond holds very little value.

Confidence is everything in the diamond sector. Customers, suppliers, financiers and end consumers all increasingly demand assurance when it comes to diamonds. With more than 130 years of experience as a leader in the industry, De Beers Group plays a key role in building and solidifying confidence in every touchpoint our diamonds reach. De Beers Institute of Diamonds provides our industry with the very best in diamond verification, education and diamond services with a range of products and services that provide confidence in product integrity, product knowledge and product assessment.

Confidence In: Grading
Every diamond we grade as part of our services is natural, untreated and from a recognized diamond producer.

We believe there is more to a diamond than its weight and appearance. Therefore, we only work with natural diamonds which are disclosed to us as compliant with the United Nations mandated World Diamond Council Kimberley Process. Additionally, an assessment from De Beers Institute of Diamonds provides diamantaires with confidence in a report of each diamond’s 4Cs of carat, color, clarity and cut. Taking it one step further, every diamond graded at De Beers Institute of Diamonds is given a unique inscription number, allowing the diamond details to be tracked and viewed on our website, for added peace of mind.

Confidence In: Technology
Every diamond we handle has benefited from our unrivaled range of accumulated expertise and exclusive proprietary technology, including technology we sell to the trade – the most advanced diamond services and verification instruments available.

Hardwiring our expertise into technology underpins our ability to give customers accurate, reliable and repeatable outcomes – whether it’s within our own diamond grading services, or in the diamond verification instruments we sell. Our technology leadership ensures our customers can have 100% trust in both the integrity and assessments of their diamonds, helping them in turn offer this priceless commodity to their own supply chain partners.

Confidence In: Education
We provide our unparalleled expertise and experience to those looking to learn more about our industry and improve their businesses.

In such a specialized industry, a diamond company’s reputation relies on the knowledge and insight of its people. As part of De Beers Group, the world’s leading diamond company for over a century, we are perfectly placed to impart this expertise. We run a range of courses designed to meet the needs of all types of students – from industry newcomers to well-versed veterans seeking more specialized knowledge in particular areas. Starting with our diamond foundation course and advancing to polished grading, synthetic diamond detection and a range of specialist deep-dive insights, De Beers Institute of Diamonds has all your education needs covered.

Without the ability to instill confidence within the industry and directly to the consumer, a diamond holds very little value. Empowering the industry experts through education, technology and grading allows De Beers to create the most reputable product on the market. Diamonds are so much more than just their beauty and De Beers Institute of Diamonds ensures their story remains as intact as their sparkle.
