Bliss Lau’s ‘Vantage’ Point Is the Hawaiian Horizon
In her “Vantage” collection, Lau explores heritage, identity, and inner strength through designs featuring blue-green Guatemalan jade.

The collection centers blue-green Guatemalan jade, a choice inspired by Lau’s Chinese-American heritage and upbringing in Hawai’i, as the shade of the jade resembles the Hawaiian horizon where the ocean meets the sky.
In the collection’s necklaces, earrings, bracelets, rings, and charms (which Lau calls curios), Lau pairs the jade with sculptural 18-karat gold and flowing chains meant to evoke qi, meaning energy.
While there are 18 pieces total in the collection, the charms were designed to be versatile, attaching to necklaces or earrings, and increasing the styling possibilities.
Movement is seen in single pieces like the “Cove” pinky ring, in which an imperial green Guatemalan jade bead slides within an open gold oval.
The brand said the ring is a symbol of solace and protection.
The “Horizon” bracelet depicts Lau’s inspiration exactly as it uses an oval of jade sitting within a gold circle and accented by a diamond at its center as the Hawaiian horizon.
Signatures of the Vantage collection are the “Echo” necklace and earrings in which interlocked circle- and oval-shaped links are carved from a single stone.
“I’ve always seen beauty in the simplicity of geometric shapes, but with this collection, it became incredibly personal,” said Lau, who is the founder of and designer behind her eponymous brand.
“While designing it, I started researching what these forms actually mean across cultures and fell in love with the beautiful story of contrasts they tell: in ancient China, the jade circle represents this boundless spiritual force. In Western sacred geometry, the oval represents your inner life and creativity.”
The Vantage collection is Lau’s exploration of heritage, identity, and inner strength realized through designs featuring a contemporary use of jade.
Lau said her Vantage collection is where the two worlds of East and West meet and why she features circles and ovals coming together in almost every piece in the collection.
“It feels like the sacred holding space for the self, a visual reminder of where you come from and who you’re becoming. On a deeper level, its tangible expression of my own hapa Chinese-American heritage, where East and West naturally meet,” she said.
The Vantage collection retails from $800 to $18,000.
It launched on Oct. 7 and is available on the Bliss Lau website.
Lau's fist celebrity campaign starring actress Ali Ahn launched alongside the collection.
Ahn is a longtime friend of Lau’s and has worn Bliss Lau jewelry while acting in the Netflix series “The Diplomat.” She plays Eidra Park, the CIA’s tough-as-nails London station chief.
Photographer David Suh shot the campaign, which debuted in time for the season four premiere of “The Diplomat” on Oct. 15.
The Vantage collection’s campaign can be seen on the Bliss Lau website and social media.
