New York—Jewelers for Children has a new board chair following its annual board of director elections.

Jeffrey A. Cohen, president of Citizen Watch America, was appointed chairman, effective Oct. 1.

Cohen will succeed Alan Zimmer, president and CEO of Reeds Jewelers, who will complete his two-year term as chair.

“I am honored to serve as the chair of Jewelers for Children in continuing the amazing work of this organization and our entire industry,” said Cohen.

“We are thrilled with the support we have received from our donors, which has been truly incredible in helping to ensure we are improving the lives of children for many years to come.”

Cohen thanked Zimmer for his time as chair.

“As a leader in the industry, Alan was instrumental in bringing much awareness to new donors and played a key role in the younger generation’s involvement in the charity.”

Zimmer will serve as immediate past chair and chair of the nominating committee.

The board also added nine new directors and re-elected three, all with start dates of Oct. 1.

The officers elected for one-year terms are as follows:

Katherine Bodoh, American Gem Society, vice president of charity programs;

Eric Zuckerman, PacTeam Group, vice president of special programs;
Mark Goldberg, Rolex Watch USA, treasurer;
Jake Duneier, Clyde Duneier, secretary; and

The new directors elected to three-year terms are:

Margot Grinberg, Movado Group;
Ivette Nersesyan-Stephanopoulos, De Beers;
Suzanne Adams, Assurant;
Hasu Dholakia, H.K. Designs;
Jen Stevens, Amazon;
Kevin Mays, John Mays Jewelers;
Pinny Gniswich, DelMar Manufacturing;
Richard Cannava, Overskies; and
Dominick Gabriel, Gabriel & Co.

Three directors who completed three-year terms were then re-elected to another term of three years. They are Gus Garcia of Bottom Line Marketing, Lisa Rae Gould of Asurion, and Brittney Zimmer of Reeds Jewelers.

Since its founding in 1999, Jewelers for Children has donated more than $61 million to programs benefiting children in need.
