Ohio store moves ownership to next generation
Family-owned store Weber Jewelers has announced that Stephanie Weber will assume ownership of the company after they hold a retirement sale.
Dayton, Ohio--Family-owned store Weber Jewelers has announced that Stephanie Weber will assume ownership of the company after they hold a retirement sale.
Stephanie Weber’s grandfather opened the store in the 1930s and it is currently run by her father, Fred Weber.
“When I started in the family business almost 60 years ago, little did I know how rewarding it would be to continue the tradition that began back in 1930,” Fred Weber said. “Now it is my turn to pass the torch, and I will do so with great pride to my daughter Stephanie.”
Weber will not officially take control of the store until its entire multi-million dollar collection of diamonds, fine jewelry and colored gemstones, including all classic and new styles, have been sold off at the Fred Weber Retirement Sale.
Stephanie Weber said that the company is getting rid of all inventory for a number of reasons, including that the weight of old inventory was slowing them down, the jewelry cases were too packed, and a shift in the business to custom, one-of-a kind pieces, among other things.
The sale begins today at 10 a.m.
“I have been extremely fortunate to have had so many rewarding years carrying forward the Weber Jewelers tradition,” Fred Weber said. “Mere words cannot express my heartfelt gratitude for the support of all our friends. It is in that spirit that we planned this transition just before the holidays. It’s a special opportunity to purchase extraordinary holiday gifts at Weber Jewelers at prices that have never before been possible.”
Stephanie Weber is a Gemological Institute of America graduate gemologist and officially joined the company in 1990. She’s been overseeing day-to-day business at Weber Jewelers for the past two years.
