What We Know About Jennifer Lawrence’s Engagement Ring
The Hunger Games actress finally showed off the big diamond during Paris Fashion Week.
New York—After what feels like a number of major celebrity colored gem bridal moments of late, one mega-watt actress has revealed her very big, and very large, classic solitaire diamond engagement ring.
News came out in early February that Academy Award- and Golden Globe Award-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence had gotten engaged to art gallery director Cooke Maroney, making everyone instantly wonder what the ring looked like.
And though sources had told various media outlets that the bauble was “massive,” when the star was first spotted out and about post-engagement, she was sporting a thin band with a small diamond at center.
Then a little more than a week ago, Lawrence was photographed out at dinner with friends in New York City with a considerably larger diamond on her left hand, but the photos were fairly grainy so not many questions were answered.

Now, the ring has finally made a public, and official, appearance, though few concrete details are yet known about it.
Lawrence traveled to Paris Fashion Week last week, where she was photographed at the Dior show wearing a gray tweed collared dress from the brand and flashing her most important accessory.
From pictures, the ring appears to feature an elongated cushion-cut or emerald-cut diamond set on a thin band.
Kathryn Money, Brilliant Earth‘s vice president of strategy and merchandising, told Page Six and Elle.com that she predicted it weighs between 4 and 5 carats and is valued between $60,000 to $100,000 “depending on the quality and specific characteristics of the center diamond.”

Diamond expert Grant Mobley, meanwhile, also told Insider and Elle.com that he predicted it weighed between 4 and 5 carats but valued it at close to $200,000.
Lawrence has been more private about this relationship though, revealing few details along the way, and also doesn’t have an Instagram account, so it remains to be seen how much information about the ring will be offered.
Regardless, it’s a big diamond moment.
And even though there have been some fabulous colored gemstone engagement rings from celebrities recently (we’re looking at you, Katy), fancy-cut diamonds also are having a moment among the stars, with celebs like model Karlie Kloss and Glee actress Lea Michele opting for the style.
