Raymond Weil Releases the Freelancer Skeleton
At Baselworld, the Swiss brand also unveiled a watch it made to commemorate The Beatles.
Basel--Raymond Weil, the Swiss watch brand started in 1976, is celebrating its 40th anniversary with the introduction of a skeleton movement into its best-selling collection.
The 42.5 mm Freelancer Skeleton has a black PVD-coated steel case, calfskin leather strap and rose gold-plated indices and hands.
It is powered by a mechanical self-winding skeleton Sellita movement (caliber RW 4215) with a ruthenium finish and 38-hour power reserve.
The Freelancer Skeleton retails for $2,595.
Also at Baselworld, Raymond Weil unveiled a limited edition watch dedicated to the Fab Four.
Part of the Maestro collection, the Beatles watch has the titles of all 13 of the band’s albums listed around the dial, including a graphic interpretation of the cover of 1965’s “Help!” between 3 and 4 o’clock.
The 39.5 mm watch (pictured above) has a mechanical self-winding movement, silver galvanic dial, stainless steel bracelet and case, and an exhibition caseback with official Beatles logo.
It is limited to 3,000 pieces and will retail for $1,395.
The release of The Beatles watch is a continuation of Raymond Weil’s focus on the music industry.
At Basel last year, the Swiss brand created a limited edition watch marking what would have been singer Frank Sinatra’s 100th birthday and another created in conjunction with guitar company Gibson and released a tourbillon, a first for the brand, made to echo a cello.
And earlier this year Raymond Weil announced it was partnering with Universal Music Group to launch an exclusive music streaming service on its website.
