Rolex Unveils Clock at Rockefeller Center
The clock is part of the celebration for the soon-to-open Rolex headquarters on New York City’s Fifth Avenue.

The partnership celebrates the upcoming opening of a new Rolex North American headquarters that will be located at 665 Fifth Avenue in New York City.
The clock’s design was inspired by the building’s original 1930s Art Deco style.
It is meant to become a new icon at Rockefeller Center, Rolex said, serving as a lasting symbol of precision, craftsmanship, and the significance of every moment.
Its design features clean lines, balanced proportions, and a dial designed for immediate legibility with a carefully considered marker and hand design.
There are five pillars that support the clock, a nod to the five points of the Rolex crown and the five links in a Rolex Jubilee bracelet.
The clock also features the watchmaker’s iconic fluted bezel design that was first introduced in 1926 with the debut of the Oyster watch.
The raised fluting at the top of the clock intersects at the center to represent the four cardinal points: north, south, east, and west.
The watchmaker has also been named Rockefeller Center’s Exclusive Timepiece Partner. The two will host yearly events and cultural installations.
“Rolex is one of the most respected and influential luxury brands in the world, with timepieces crafted to last for generations. For nearly a century, Rockefeller Center has similarly stood as a place that creates memories that will last a lifetime,” said EB Kelly, senior managing director at Tishman Speyer and head of Rockefeller Center.
“We are honored to partner with a brand of Rolex’s stature, and we look forward to seeing the clock become a new emblem for New York.”
The Rolex Clock is located atop a newly designed information center on 50th Street, between 5th and 6th Avenues.
The information center is where visitors can purchase tickets for Rockefeller Center experiences, like the Top of the Rock Observation Desk, or learn more about dining, shopping, and other entertainment available at Rockefeller Center.
