SSEF Opens 2026 Applications for Gemology Education Scholarships
The annual awards cover tuition for an on-site educational course at the Swiss lab, as well as flights and lodging.
The deadline to apply for SSEF’s two annual gemology education scholarships is Nov. 1.
Basel, Switzerland—The Swiss Gemmological Institute SSEF has opened applications for its two annual gemology education scholarships.
One winner will be selected for each scholarship.
Each receives free tuition for an educational course at the lab, based in Basel, Switzerland, including flights and hotel accommodation.
These scholarships were created to make high-level gemological education accessible, the lab said.
The awards are named in honor of gemologists and former SSEF directors Henry A. Hänni and George Bosshart.
The Henry A. Hänni scholarship is open to applicants from gemstone-producing countries.
The recipient may opt to take any SSEF course taking place in 2027.
The George Bosshart scholarship is open to applicants worldwide.
The award covers participation for the Scientific Diamond course only. It is set to take place July 19-23, 2027.
The application deadline for both scholarships is Nov. 1.
Recipients will be announced Dec. 16.
