JSA Offering $10K Reward in Nancy Guthrie Case
Guthrie, the mother of “Today” show host Savannah Guthrie, was abducted just as the Tucson gem shows were starting.

The 84-year-old Guthrie is the mother of “Today” show host Savannah Guthrie.
She was last seen at her home in the Catalina Foothills neighborhood, a 15-minute drive from downtown Tucson, on Saturday evening, Jan. 31.
In its weekly crime alert sent Thursday afternoon, JSA said the Guthrie family has ties to the jewelry industry and noted that the home invasion and abduction took place just as the gem shows were kicking off in Tucson.
It is asking anyone who attended the shows and might have information on the suspect pictured above or any further information related to the crime to contact JSA at crimetips@jewelerssecurity.org or 212-687-0328.
JSA also is asking Tucson attendees to forward its alert to friends and counterparts overseas who attended the show.
All calls and emails will remain anonymous and confidential.
JSA declined to comment when asked about the Guthrie family’s connection to the jewelry industry, or what had prompted it to offer a reward in the high-profile abduction case, which has been dominating the headlines for the last two weeks.
Guthrie’s daughter Annie Guthrie, Savannah Guthrie’s older sister and the middle of the three Guthrie children, is listed on the website for the University of Arizona’s Poetry Center as a writer and jeweler.
In 2000, she wrote a book on jewelry, “Instant Gratification: Jewelry,” and in 2007, opened a store called “The Jewelry Smithery,” though it no longer appears to be in business.
JSA’s announcement of a reward came the same day the FBI increased its reward in the case to $100,000 and released new details about the suspect based on forensic analysis of the doorbell camera footage.
The suspect is described as a male, approximately 5’9” to 5’10” tall, with an average build.
In the video, he is wearing a black, 25-liter “Ozark Trail Hiker Pack” backpack, a brand sold exclusively by Walmart.
Tips can be submitted to the FBI by calling 1-800-CALL-FBI or on Tips.FBI.gov.
Also on Thursday, Pima County Sheriff’s Office sent a local alert asking for additional video evidence, the Today show reported Friday morning.
The alert went to people with a Ring doorbell camera who live within a 2-mile radius of Guthrie’s home.
The sheriff’s office is requesting any video showing vehicles, traffic, pedestrians, or suspicious activity from Jan. 1 to Feb. 2.
